The Jurupa Area Recreation and Park District Memorial Wall Committee is now accepting nominations of individuals for the Veterans Memorial Wall at Veterans Memorial Park.  The Veterans Memorial Wall Committee foresaw the need to recognize ‘Veterans’ under the following criteria:  who have served their country and have been Honorably Discharged with a copy of their DD214 Form (DD214 Form may be waived as a requirement for WWII Veterans), have resided within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Park District, are deceased and have substantially contributed to serving the community.  For these reasons, the Park District has constructed the Veterans Memorial Wall.  The wall stands today at Veterans Memorial Park at 4393 Riverview Drive, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509 on the Pacific Street side of the park.  The program and unveiling of the names has been scheduled for Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M.

Nomination forms may be obtained through the Park District Office at 4810 Pedley Road, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509 or they may be downloaded from the District website at www.jarpd.org.  The last day for the Park District to receive Nominations is April 7, 2017.

Donations to place the inscribed names on the wall are kindly accepted.  All funds received will be applied to nominated veterans for the purposes of inscribing their names on the wall, ongoing maintenance of the wall and program costs.

Questions or comments regarding this program may be directed to the Jurupa Area Recreation and Park District at (951) 361-2090.
